$785K federal grant boosts Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe police force

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI — The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe will receive $785,555 from a $139 million federal grant to hire more police officers and support law enforcement initiatives here.

The U.S. Department of Justice last week announced the grant funding through its Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, otherwise known as COPS.
